Hydrogen

Applications :

Metal, glass and plastics production and fabrication, metallurgy, chemical and petrochemical industry, power and electronic industry, fuel cells, brazing and heating technologies. There is advantage for use of hydrogen as a fuel gas for heating and brazing operation. It gives powerful flame which is clean of carbon. Common hydrocarbon fuel gases as acetylene or propane keep on preheated material carbon residues. These are not acceptable for transparent glass fabrication and also for various clean brazed joints e.g. in electronic industry. Addition of hydrogen in shielding gas for TIG welding or in root shielding gas (forming gas) of the stainless steel helps to keep weld metal clean and optimally shaped.

A special regulator is needed for hydrogen, with focus on quality and tightness of all supply system. There is a high risk of fire or explosion when hydrogen is leaking. ATEX directive needs to be considered.
